Bahamas

I visited the island of Nassau twice, but I cannot say that anything I had to eat really stood out as unique.  Maybe because I was at a large resort, I did not really get to try much local cuisine. I do recall it being quite expensive and having gone to several all-you-can-eat buffets and feeling very uncomfortable after over-eating!!   As far as something local,  conch salad was probably the most memorable.  It is a large sea snail with firm white flesh.

The Bahamas is also quite well-known for rum and rum cakes!!   This island has the most beautiful blue waters, warm temperatures, and colorful buildings.    It's fun to shop at the straw market for handmade items, just chilling on the beach or walking around the tropical gardens.    I recall feeling quite relaxed hearing the surf and the wind blowing through the palm trees. Once I enjoyed taking a jet ski out on the water, and driving around the island on a scooter!!
