Here is a recipe for homemade hummus. Quite simple, and so delicious to eat with

fresh pita or veggies.

Ingredients:

3/4 cup dry chick peas

1/4 cup tahini

1/4 cup lemon juice

1/2 tsp. cumin powder

2 tbsp. olive oil

1/2 clove garlic, chopped

salt

paprika

Soak the chick peas overnight in a few cups of water. Pressure cook them in plenty of water for

40 minutes. (Canned chick peas can be used, but the flavor is better with the dry

peas.)

Put the tahini and lemon juice in a food processor and add the garlic.

Blend for about a minute. Add the cumin powder, olive oil, and about 1/2 tsp. salt.

Blend a few seconds. Measure 1 1/2 cups cooked chick peas and add them to the food processor.

Add a little bit of water and blend until smooth.

Add more water if necessary to get desired texture and thickness. Add more salt

if needed. Drizzle some olive oil on top and sprinkle with paprika.
