Whenever travelling to a tropical place, eating a fresh mango is a special treat!

I have a very hard time finding good mangoes in the grocery stores at home

in New England. BUT, lately, that is not the case!! They currently have

Champagne Mangoes from Mexico at the market and they are just super

delicious and perfect!! I have purchased these before and they were hard and

sour, but right now they are just perfect! I decided to write this post because mango

is my favorite fruit and I'm happy to have found good ones at home!

Here is the best way to cut and eat mangoes:

1. First cut off the flesh on each side of the large central pit. I have a special

cutter to do this, but it can be done with a knife also:

2. Take each side and score the flesh with a knife. (Cut down to the peel, but not through the peel.)

Invert the skin to open up the cubes of fruit. Then take a knife and cut away the cubes from

the peel.

3. Take the pit and cut away any extra flesh. I always just take it and eat the flesh from the pit.

**When I was in El Salvador, they told me to just bite into the skin, peel it off, and then eat

it like an apple!! That's the real way to eat a mango. .but it's pretty messy!!
